3 large garlic cloves
4 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp fennel seeds, ground
1 tsp sea salt

Prepare the vegetables
Cut the turnips into quarters and boil in salted water for around 10 minutes until just tender. Drain turnips and when they are cool enough to handle, peel and chop into small pieces. Bring another large saucepan of water to the boil and add the turnip greens. Boil gently for 5 minutes until tender. Drain with a colander. Boil the broccoli rabe in a large saucepan of water. Remove with a slotted spoon and put with the turnip greens. Reserve 1/2 cup of the cooking liquid.

Fry vegetables and flavourings
In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil. Add the fennel seeds, garlic and parsley and cook for around 30 seconds. Add the turnip greens, broccoli rabe and turnip, salt and pepper to taste. Cook for around 10 minutes stirring often. Greens should be tender. Add some of the reserved liquid to moisten while cooking.
