Bacon and Turnip Turnovers Recipe

Tasty turnip and bacon puff pastry pies

Turnip and bacon puff pastry pies. Can be served as a snack or light lunch.

Ingredients

1 small turnip
1/2 small onion
4 slices bacon
1 pack puff pastry
2 tbsp butter
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Recipe Instructions

Prepare
Preheat the oven to 375oF. Peel the turnip and grate. Finely slice the onions. Dry fry the bacon and cut into strip. Mix the grated turnip, onions and bacon together and season.

Prepare pies
Cut 2″ rounds from ready rolled puff pastry, around 30. Place around 1 tsp of turnip mixture on half of each of the rounds. Fold the other half over and press the sides together with a fork to seal the edges. Put on a baking tray and brush with the melted butter.

Bake
Bake in the oven for 15-17 minutes until they are lightly browned.
